I am so grateful for my friends and family.

Well they say that pregnancy causes memory loss, but I am behind on my blogging due to "not much new", not because I have forgotten to.

These photos are of gifts that my wonderful friends and family have given to us over the past couple weeks. I feel so blessed to have such great people in my life. This little girl has been welcomed with big arms and big hearts already, and she is not due to come out for another 3 months.

Thank you so much everyone for your thoughtfulness and blessings for our little peanut.

Wednesday the 10Th (which is also Corey Willis's 29Th B-day) is my next Dr. appointment. This will be my 24 week appointment. As I have been very excited to have our little girl come out now, I start to realize, it really is just around the corner.

Happy Holidays to everyone, and my this season bring lots of love and happiness around the world.

Happy Holiday Season

Happy Holidays to everyone. Another year has almost past, but I would have to say its been an event full one.
Nothing to new on the home front. I am really looking forward to the holidays. Most of you know how much I love to decorate for the holidays, so this weekend I will be helping my dad put the lights up on his house and make sure he is in the running for the best decorated house in his neighborhood.
I will be updating the blog this week with a new photo of my belly. Everyone is saying that I have "Popped", so stay tuned for the 21.5 week photo.
Happy Gobble Gobble......

Baby Girl Whiteside

5-4-3-2-1.............IT'S A GIRL

Yesterday 11-12-08 was one of the best days of my life. Not only did John and I celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary, but it also was the day we found out that we are having a beautiful (pretty sure SPOILED) little GIRL.

Around 2pm John, my mom and I, all huddled in the doctors office, in front of a monitor, viewing play by play of a little spine, bones, head, heart and of course our little girls x0x0x0x. I have never seen anything cooler then my little baby moving around inside my belly.

For those of you who grew up with me, no that pink is not one of my favorite colors. I was the first granddaughter to be born after 3 boys and the story is told that my grandmother went to Bullock's after she heard the news and a few days later, on the door step of my parents house in West Virginia, were loads of boxes filled with PINK clothes. I am not sure if that is why pink is not my favorite color or dirt doesn't look good on pink.

Anyway, John and I are thrilled beyond belief that we are having a daughter, and the doctor said she is super healthy daughter. So for those of you who voted girl, thanks for the good karma.
Stay tuned for pictures of our little peanut. (as soon as I figure out the scanning machine)

P.S I know I said that I was not going to find out the gender of our baby, but there was nothing like watching the features of your child and not getting wrapped up in one of the most perfect moments of your life. Having the most wonderful husband and the proudest, caring mom in the world, all there to watch a miracle on the screen, Do I have to say more.........

19 weeks....

This photo is of me at 19 weeks and my girlfriend Jenne at 23 weeks.

This Wednesday is our 20 week ultrasound appointment. It is also John and my 3 year wedding anniversary.

Stay tuned for photos of our little peanut. I wont be able to tell you what it is, because I am being old fashion and not finding out.

Our spur of the moment, but wonderful trip to Colorado.

John and I took a spur of the moment trip to Colorado to visit our Friends Jenne and Jeremiah. We flew into Denver and stayed in a town called Brighton. We had a great time and saw so much while we were there. Neither of us had ever been to Colorado, so we spent alot of our time sight seeing and visiting with our friends. Below are a few pictures from our trip. We went to a few sporting events, saw our Friends Ed and Niki, hiked Sanitas Mountain, drove to Estes park and of course, experienced Colorado breweries.

Our Role Models...

The other night our friends Angie and Jake invited us over for dinner and to have question and answer time. They have a little 7 month old girl named Dannika. Both Angie and Jake are adventure racers and are really into Mt. Biking. ( Jake has been riding with John, since my riding time has been cutting back) We had a wonderful time at their house and I sure learned a lot. The most important thing both John and I learned, is life is not over after you have a kid. In fact, you get to teach someone else the adventures of life.

16.5 weeks.... Almost half way there.

Today I went to the doctors for my 16.5 week check-up. The past two check-ups have been pretty boring. I get to pee in a cup and weigh myself. The good part about the appointment is I get to hear the heart beat. Today as the doctor put the Doppler on my belly, you could here the baby, and then you couldn't. The doctor said sometimes they run to the other side, in which this was one of those cases. But don't worry, we hunted that little peanut down.

The other picture is what our nursery/spare room looks like at this time. We are working to clean it up so in a month or so we can start making the room a nursery.

Other then that, nothing to new. My brother and sister in law found out they are having a girl, which is very exciting. The two cousins will be very close. They are due on March 1st.

The Beer Challange......

One thing I can say that I miss drinking during pregnancy , is beer. Our last trip to Northern CA, we tried to hit every brewery there was along the way. I guess I could say I drank my portion for the year on that trip.

The other day I was thinking about how funny it would be if John filled this Stein we have (his dad got it in Germany) all the way to the top with beer and drink it. You could say it was kinda of a challenge, plus I wanted to see how many beers it would take to fill it to the top. Needless to say, the growler (which is in Johns left hand) is pretty much empty.

These are the strange things you do on a day off while waiting for this little munchkin to arrive.

CHEERS. (if anyone wants to take on John in stein drinking, let us know).

14.5 weeks along... Many more to go....

Well, there is no pretty way of showing off your growing body, but I thought that some of you would like to see what happens to your belly/body as the weeks go on (some of you would like to just look back and remember/laugh). This is my belly at 14.5 weeks. The way I feel, it should be a little bigger. Things are starting to move in there. Supposedly this little person is starting to stretch out.

Nothing to exciting.

Sorry for not blogging lately, but no news is good news. Things are going good. We have not started any decorating or preparing yet. We have about a month and a half before we go to the big doctors appointment where we can find out the sex of the baby and get the newest ultrasound photos. Today I am 14.5 weeks along. As soon as we get some photos taken I will post them. I hope everyone is doing well.

The Whitesides are getting a new Mountain Bike

Well, our garage is turning into a bike store, but the good news is we still have room for one more bike. This bike will not be one we have had before, but it will be a smaller version for our newest family member joining our family in April. That is right, we are going to welcome baby Whiteside in early April. John and I are very excited. The first two months have been a little rough only because it has changed my workout regimen and my food intake. Other then that, everything has been going great. Stay tuned for updates on Baby Whiteside and Family.

As of September 24th, we are 12.5 weeks along. Only 6 months to go.

More Photos...

Mammoth... No snow, but plenty of Dirt.

After the downieville race, we felt bad for our bikes, so we took them to Mammoth for some fun downhill. Instead of climbing up the hill, we took a gondola up and let the loose downhill. A whole different adventure for our endurance, but every once in awhile you need to just go downhill. I would strongly suggest Mammoth in the summer. We stayed in a wonderful village meet great people and enjoyed the weather without parkas. Here our a few photos of Mammoth and of course more Mt. Biking.

The Whiteside"s are back!!!!

WOW... The hardest thing I have ever done in my life. The Downieville classic is a 29 mile cross country mountain bike race that features an eight mile climb straight up hill followed by 21 miles of downhill, some more uphill, boulders, drops, more drops, narrow trails (with cliffs on the side), bridge crossings, water crossings and a few helicopters to pick up those riders who adventured off the side of the cliffs.

This is the first adventure that John and I completed on our two week road trip. The best part about this race is that John took 3rd place and I survived. Here are a few photos from the race and the beautiful town of Downieville, population 100. The rest of the photos are from the rest of our adventure.

John and I's children

I was browsing through some photos, and starting to laugh when I passed by two photos of our bikes hanging out in places we have stayed. By the looks of the photos, you would think we treat our bikes like they were are children.

The count down........

Well, there are 11 days until the big race. John and I will be leaving San Diego and heading toward Sierra City in only 8 days. We are really excited and to be honest, I am a bit nervous. Anyway, after the race we will be visiting family in Santa Rosa and from there we will be taking a little road trip for out summer vacation. I will post some pictures from the race after I get them. Hopefully there will be no pictures from the local hospital, just pictures from the start and finish of the race. Oh yes, there will be some fly fishing pictures with my mom and dad, who are joining us in Downieville.

Life List Adventures

John and I have done a lot in the past 8 years we have been together. I look back and can't believe the things we have conquered ( I owe a lot to John and my dad) and some of them "Survived". Here are a few pictures of some the Whiteside's Life List quest. Needless to say I have checked them off my LIST.

Getting Ready for D-Ville

John and I are getting ready to ride the epic downieville. OK, John is ready to conquer it while I am ready to attempt to ride it. Downieville is a 29 mile cross country mountain bike race in Sierra City, CA. John raced it last year and took 6th. This year I believe he can move up into the top 3. I on the other hand want to check it off my life list, so I am determined to finish the race, riding, crawling or being carried.
