One day shy of 3 weeks.......

Sorry for the delay in updating, but we have had a rough few days (I think all new parents would say the same thing). We are still getting to know Sierra day by day, and trying to figure out this parenting thing.

So far things are good. We have a few challenging times but are hoping with ever day passing will will get better and better with parenting.

Here are a few photos of her first bath.

11 days old and growing like a tree.........

Hello everyone from the Whiteside home front. Things here are going great. Everyday is a new day and we are getting to know Sierra better and better. She seems to be growing fast, but it could be from all the food we feed her. She seems to have a few fussy times during the day which we have not conquered why, so we seem to feed her more often then not.

We have gone on a few walks, and adventured out to lunch this week.

Here are a few photos of Sierra on a walk, with her Grandpa and a few of her just growing.

Stay tuned for photos of Sierra in her first 5k race, which we are doing this weekend.

One week old today.........

I think I see a red head in my future.

I have a moment to update the blog while little Sierra is napping before her first doctors visit today.
Sierra is doing great. She seems to like being home from the hospital just as much as her mom and dad. We are adjusting day by day and learning something new every moment. So far we have has little sleep in the evening, but Sierra likes to take very long naps in the day time.
John has adapted to father hood like a pro. I cant thank him enough for what a wonderful dad and husband he is. I have adjusted to motherhood pretty good. I am still learning about the whole breast feeding thing and learning what each cry means. Other then that, things are trucking along.
We are really looking forward to the doctors appointment today, to make sure she is growing, and get are 50 questions answered.
Here are a few new photos of little Sierra.
I hope everyone is doing well.

4 days over and waiting.....

I thought I would just update you on the progress of Peanuts arrival. Not much to report as of today. I believe I have started some contractions which are not to consistent. I am still on track for Friday morning induction if there is no change by then. I can't complain about to much, I feel good and John and I are very excited.
Thanks so much to everyone for caring so much and as soon as something changes, I or someone will let you know.

40 weeks and 2 days.........

Here it is April 6Th, 2 days after Peanuts due date, and no little peanut. The doctor asked today " where does she get her stubbornness from" I replied, both sides. I would have to say that I am very proud of our little peanut for being stubborn, and I hope it continues when she encounters boys.
Well, needless to say we are without a little bundle still. Today's appointment was like always, quick and not much change. I am still between 1 and 2cm dilated, no protein in the urine, good BP and wt is the same. Today's internal exam was a little more interesting in the fact that the doctor ruptured my membranes which can either help the start of labor or not. After that appointment we adventured over to the hospital for fetal monitoring. I started with an ultrasound to make sure the baby still had enough amniotic fluid, then I was placed on a monitor for 30 minutes. The monitor was to watch the babies HR, and make sure she elevated her HR 15 beats for at least 15 seconds 2x. This can evaluate the amount of O2 the baby is getting. Everything was Great.
So when is this little girl going to come out and meet everyone? I think it is our question as much as it is yours. I can tell you that we walked Torrey Pines today and have been walking pretty much everyday, and as much as I feel great, I am not sure that it is speeding up the process. But I can say that we are scheduled Friday morning 5am for induction if nothing happens in the meantime. I will go in and be placed on pitocin and then allow the labor to begin.
I will keep you updated, and if not, someone will.
Happy Monday and I hope everyone is doing well.

39.5 weeks and no little peanut yet......

As much as it would be fun to play an April Fools joke on all of you, I don't want to jinks myself, and have this little bundle of joy come out today. Any other day will do, but just not April 1st.

Today was another appointment. Between my doctors appointments and John working at the hospital, I feel like we should get a hotel room at Sharp.

The doctors appointment was pretty much uneventful ( good thing and bad thing). Good, in the fact that everything checked out just fine. BP was good, no protein in the urine, babies HR was great and my wt was good. Bad, in the fact that I am still only 1cm dilated, and my uterus is tight as ever. So in layman's terms, little peanut likes being in the womb and is not making any quick strides to get out today. That does not mean everything could go down in a quick moment. Peanut has a mind of her own and when she wants to come out, she can.

On another note. I have to go back on Monday for another check-up and start fetal monitoring if she has not arrived by then. That would put her 2 days late, and she gets extra care when shes late. From that day on, if she is still not here, I am scheduled for induction on Friday the 10Th.

So its day by day now, and a lot of waiting. I will post another blog on Monday unless I have more news before that.

Happy April 1st.
